Bollywood NIghts
Our Hollywood Indian themed fun-raiser was held this spring and was a wonderful way to celebrate our second group of assistance dog graduates. It was a colorful event with Indian and American cuisine, Indian dancers who taught attendees how to dance Indian style, and an impressive silent and live auction. The end of the night was a moving moment when our newest PAALS family member, a soldier waiting for a service dog, spoke about his Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injury from war. This was followed by our last live auction segment, the fund in need for Rob’s Best Friend Fund, which raised almost $11,000. The Windermere also hosted a golf tournament the day before this event which raised additional funds needed.
