In Sgt. Roberts’ Honor

Support a PAALS clientLocal Iraqi war veteran, First Sgt. Roberts was injured during one of his several deployments. His traumatic brain injury and hearing defects were obtained when his military vehicle ran over an IUD. He lost several comrades during his deployments—including a dog he found and took care of.

Since returning to the U.S., Will has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and is struggling in crowds where his startle response can trigger terrible memories of combat. All of this will change soon with his new Ranger Buddy—PAALS service dog. His dog will be taught to create a buffer zone in crowds and to perform pressure relief behaviors that help reduce anxiety.
